SVX Front Lip Group Buy

I'm trying to gauge interest in my finished lip, so I'm initiating a group buy price for four people of 175$+shipping with a non-refundable 50$ deposit.

The finished product bolts directly in place of the stock rubber curb guard using stainless steel hardware (included). It is made frpom fiberglass, and comes in white gelcoat. Simply scuff it and paint to match your car before installation

Looks interesting.
I'll pass. (curbs like my car)
Due to the good fit and nice look of it I hope you get a ton of people willing to buy one from you.
Good luck.

It's really hard to tell what it would look like with paint.. I'd probably end up filling most of the cracks so it wouldn't look aftermarket but it looks amazing thus far.. You going to bolt it on and paint it before selling or should we just go by whats in the picture?

Any chance that you might offer a urethane version (i.e., one that won't crack/shatter on impact)? Thanks.

agreed. made out of ABS plastic, or melted down rubbermaid storage bins. that would be best.

What you see is what you get my friend. I wanted to create a simple piece that can be painted and bolted on, without the hassle of waiting 6 months for a full bumper you paid 120,000 yen for. I wanted it to be removable so perhaps if you decided you didn't like the look of it, or needed it repaired,or thought perhaps it'd fly like a boomerang, it could be taken off. the seam between the lip and the bumper is very minor. I'm quite particular about those things, and there's a good reason i've re-designed the lip twice over:)

The original prototype was on my car for several months. It did clear standard curbs and parking stops, and the entire time it was on my car i scraped it ONCE. No damages whatsoever. The dimensions of what I have here are very close to the same

I chose to make it out of fiberglass because it's something i'm familiar with using , and it can be repaired easily if you ever do have an incident with a curb. I have found a source for urethane and kevlar cloth (If I were to go rubber this is what i'd use) and yes, even carbon fiber. But I don't feel comfortable using these materials because of my lack of experience with them, and putting the total costs above what most people are willing to pay

Well I am interested.. So when do you expect to sell them? Or are you just going to bring some to reading?

I can manufacture the first batch as soon as I have the four deposits collected. :)

I realy like it. I've been wanting to do something like this but any chance or a little more pizaz? Just a little something at either end to off set the flat faced front. I was almost tempted to get the P1 lip for a bugeye(replica of course) and do like the GC guys and add it on. I would really like something that would match the way the rear flows. Plus the 2-3 peice idea makes it easier to replace messed up peices and not the whole thing everytime you're otherhalf drives.

Very interested.

Once I scrounge up some funds I'll shoot you the deposit. :)

That's beautiful work, Eric. I'm sure you'll have no trouble setting this up!

If or when you make a 2-3 peice one I'll be in. I don't have money for a 1 peice I like but don't love that I'll end up destroying if I head south into Mass. NJ roads are a horror but Mass roads... make me ! Maybe I'll just take up FG work and get good at it and make what I want. ;)

This looks great. I know it's going to break if I get this though. I scrape going up my own driveway (from the left, which is why I make 3 additional turns around the block to come in from the right), and I had an awesome S14 with an aftermarket lip about 3 years ago. It exploded on Rt.21  Needless to say, I was very agitated.

Edit: Is there some kind of rubber coating we can put on these? I've noticed that a lot of Japanese cars (and some Euros, I think the E36 had these) have some kind of rubber coating on their OEM lips. Ideas?

Re: SVX Front Lip Group Buy

I have witnessed the time and effort Eric has put into making this project happen. An SVX at stock ride height shouldn't be all that concerned with the fear of bruising/cracking. I tried this lip out on my Ebony and was happy to see that it does not actually change the approach angle all that much. :)

Each lip is made by-hand, in-house so they will have been looked over thoroughly to ensure its free of defects.

We would like the first four deposits reasonably soon in order for any to be ready before Reading. ;)
