Anyone interested in twin turboing a SVX?

Well we had one come by our shop today, I liked it, almost wanted to go out and buy one for myself and twin turbo it. It's setup perfectly for a twin turbo setup, and we want to do one. Why don't I buy a SVX and do it myself, well I own 4 240's 2 with Skyline motors, one with a twin turboed stocker be finished now, and one being turned into a drag car, and I just sold 2 of my others. So anyone interested? I found this site, and am doing some research.

Just a couple of questions, how well do the motors hold boost for those already boosted? Any piston ring land issues, ring lands strong? Whats stock compression? Stock injector size?

Thats about all I need to know, just trying to figure out a setup, looking at twin Turbonetics, T3/T04E 50 trim, .48ar with a stage 2 wheel, 2 of these should be good for 600, but awesome spool for 300-400. More to come.

Email me if you're insterested in a partial sponsorship for this project, ericb@e-emotorsports.com

If you look under the Mod Mania sectoin, youll see that there are already a few discussions going on there about turbocharging the svx. you mentioned that it was set up perfectly for it...that Im a little unsure about. It seems from whats being said there that the motor isnt set up for turbos at all. If you know anything about what the person had done under the hood to get the turbos working, im sure that a post in the mod section would be apreciated.

Remember guys.... What happens to your car with more power on the following items:

1. crappy SVX transmission
2. how about stopping the fast(er) car
3. how about suspension.

I think you have to upgrade tranny (Tom is on the right track). Not only tranny, you have to upgrade your brakes so that your now faster car can stop as quick if not quicker, and remember to improve all for corners suspensions and all your axels and drive shaft.

Just a thought

And I just keep hearing there isn't much of a performance difference.

Well as of now here is the plot...

Finish 6 speed
Koni/GC combo again
Either 6piston big brake upgrade or 4 piston calipers from Dayle
THEN...get the work done for the TT... In total I would imagine the car will end being a huge sack of money by time it is finished...Estimated 30k

$30k for a 500-600hp SVX that can take turns very well and still plow through snow. Sounds worth it to me..

Can't really see how 500 HP is really going to help in the snow...you would be lighting up the road all day long. :D
