Question about Replacing rear diff bushes in the rear subframe

Question about Replacing rear diff bushes in the rear subframe.

1st how do I go about getting the old ones out? can they be pushed out?
Does it matter what way the get pushed out?
also what way do they go around?
Do I just push the new ones in?
Do they stop moving when they get so far?

Thanks :)

Well the fact you're asking means the center piece has separated so that will just fall out.

The easiest way to remove them is to cut through the outer ring with any tool of preference then use a screwdriver or similar to peel the ring out.

There are a few threads on the subject near the time of the group buy.

Ive been trying to find a good right up and havnt found one as of yet.

So is the easyest thing to do is remove the rear subframe from the svx?

which way does the bush suppost to go round?
one side the inner part sticks out by 1.8mm
and the other side its by 4.4mm

This is some info ive found that helps

When I joined the group buy, I did not even know I needed the rear diff bushings, but glad I bought them; mine were absolutely shot. I admit the difficulty of the job put me off, but I finally installed them this Sunday. Took all day long. The instructions may fit in 4 sentances, but pulling the axles loose and dropping the diff took a bit of manuvering. even harder going back in. I used a SawzAll to cut the original bearings, file to clean up the burrs in the housing, and a big***ed bolt with nut and washers to press the new ones in. First went smoothly, second one would not go in, took three hours :(of work to get that one bushing in. Done with no damage. On reassembly, did have a tough time getting the drivers side half shaft to pop in, but complete at dark:thirty. While at it I did the $15/15min & $20/20min mods.
I am amazed at how much better it rides this morning!! I did not realize how the ride and handling were degraded by the worn out components, I guess I got used to them.
Although difficult to install, I reccomend people pick up the remaining rear diff bushings; they were definately worth it in my case. :)

Re: Question about Replacing rear diff bushes in the rear subframe

I'm guessing but I would say the side without the part# / arrow would go in first (the part that sticks out further)

My reasoning: You wouldn't see the arrow/part# if it was the other way around and it's easier to press in without worrying about breaking the new one.
