Suspension bushings; are there Poly options?
Hey guys, I need a quick favor on this one...Jason (BudFreak) has my car and is doing the 4.44 swap on it and a bunch of maintenance right now, and we ran into an unexpected snag (as always happens when working on a car, lol!). He said my rear bushings are falling apart.
Is there a Poly kit that will fit our cars, or non-OE options? Something a bit stiffer than stock would be nice, but honestly, anything that would work would be great right about now...Especially if it's affordable...I've already blown my budget but I'm also not a huge fan of the "hockey puck" solution. ;) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
Rear swaybar bushings? Ummm.....I think...Chike's locker has pictures and part numbers (Username Chiketkd)
If not there then try svxfiles's's's's's (Concussions are easy to get) locker |

Oh..Mislabeled title and vauge area of car = Whoops. I think Earthworm was working on a poly group buy for them a while back, wasnt he? If not..you can always find a bushing that has the same OD and drill it out, or find one with the same ID and machine it down

Nah it was my mistake, when he called me I thought it was the suspension bushings.
I don't have the option to modify a bushing that's close, since the car's 2 states away right now. If anyone knows of a fix, please post and let me know. |
i copied SVXfile's idea of making the boushings out of liquid poly... I may be able to make another pair in a few days if you still need em

Sounds good guys, let me know how much $.
Thanks! Is this a part that would be worth making a few sets of for the group? There is a race/fab/prototype shop in town that supplies ALMS, Grand Am, etc who do custom parts for me from time to time. All I'd need is one good set for templates and we'd need to run several sets. |
i can do one tonight but I would be wasting a lot of this urethane... I also need the cores of the center pieces back (the long solid cylinder that the studs go through). Let me know, $75 for a pair

This is what they look like vs the old ones. I can finally say i'm the first of something around here. I'm the first with TomSVX's modified rear dif bushings. Installed last Sunday along with front modified engine mounts, Koni stuts and Ground Control Coils.. Car feels great. My next project full paint job....
