what has your svx been confused as?
 

Well i was driving home from work when these kids started stairing at me... i gunned it when the stop light turned green to show off the wonderful sound of the engine... when we came to the next stop light they rolled down the window and asked why i didn't buy the turbo version...
"Huh? it never came with a turbo..." i replyed... then they said
"isn't that a eagle talon?"
"NO! its a SVX" and i drove off...
My car has also been mistaken for a Ford Probe.. what about you guys?

nothin like that.. but last night a guy made a very clear point to get right behind me just to see what kind of car it was.. then got all the way back two lanes over to the right..

I've had both an early 90's Probe and Talon before the SVX and have had people confuse it for both of those. Some Talons also came with a black top and spoiler as well as having a similar shape and size.

I only get confused with nice cars o_O. Nicest thing someone ever said was "Nice espirit"

I had someone ask if it was a Ferrari- believe it or not 8-) Also I have had someone in an Acura NSX say "nice car- I was thinking of getting one". Several times someone has asked what kind of new car is that. And the windows.................

It is great to have such a timeless design that is limited in numbers. Exclusivity

I've been told several times by 'car guys' no less that they didnt know mitsubishi made the eclipse in a coupe style and that they like it. I always respond with "Yeah it amazes me with how many dumb asses think its an eclipse." Thats all i ever hear is that it looks like an eclipse or the talon.

we had 3 in my regular driving area that have the white body and black top paint scheme. After i owned mine about 5 months someone in one got rear ended by a semi on a bridge i drive over about 4 times a day you wouldnt believe how many times my cell rang! Everyone i take classes with called or emailed how they hoped i was feeling better or if i was going to buy another. I also get told i was seen at the local strip club, apparently another owner frequents it during his lunch hour and parks towards the highway. Explain that to your future in laws (well future brother in law who thought it was funny)

Ever since I put a new set of rims on mine a few weeks ago I have had 2 women ask what kind of Porsche it was. I've had one chick ask if my SVX was a Ferrari a long while ago too.

It always gets me when people say that. I own a 1990 PGT and don't you think Probe owners go "what have people confused your Probe as" lets see SVX



Look at the Probe's cousin the MX-6 which I have owned too and I can swear it looks real similar to a Subaru I use to own.

I've got the usual Talon. Then I also get "is it Turboed" when new school Subie and Evo owners see her.

I've never had anyone ask. But I sure have had a lot of curious up close check outs. I've also had a couple say "Subaru??" in parking lots after seeing it in the rear lens, and a couple stop and back up a step trying to figure out the Alcyone hood badge.

the thing with it being confused with a 2nd gen probe is the front ends look VERY similar... my friend that i work with use to have a blue probe that we always parked next to eachother when we worked.. we called them the twins!

my sister gives me a hard time about it looking like a pontiac

We once saw some kids admiring ours in a car park. One of them walks around to the front, looks at the Alcyone badge and says "No, it's not a Subaru".
