The best way to do that would be to...uh...buy a set of service manuals. :)

There's a Chilton's manual that covers pretty much everything Subaru made in the 80s and 90s. It lacks some specific detail on the SVX, but does still have a lot of info. I haven't looked at mine much since I got the FSMs, so I couldn't tell you whether or not the book had the info you need.

By the way, this post belongs in the tech forum.

I would definitley get the service manual. I have the chiltons manual and the SVX service manual would be alot easier to follow and read through.

I wanna ask the moderators, can they keep this repairing CD somewhere in FAQs ?? it is highly beneficial to all of us at any time needed.

This is a difficult one to call. Generally the moderators do not interfere with what members place in their lockers for their own use.

The difficulty would arise if we moderators and admins put something up for all members to access and use that was subject to copyright. Technically and legally this could be an infringement of copyright laws.

Essentially what I am saying is, we would be reluctant to put up written material or CD's that were still available on general sale because of the legal position.

Best advice I can give would be to copy anything you see that would be useful to you onto your hard drive. That way you have it where you need it, and we don't have legal complications.

ohhh, I didn't think of that in this way... over here Piracy runs everything, any program can be bought for a louzy $5 with no legal constraints.
The states are putting some pressure over lebanon concerning this issue, import and export are threatened to be doomed because of piracy. sorry I thought about it like this, I am used to it.

That's a sore spot. My company, for instance, spends millions of dollars and a couple years developing each product we publush. I put a lot into each game - dozens of late nights and long weekends. So I hope you understand why we're angry when we see people - no matter what country they're in - copying it for free. ;)

ThetaReactor 01-15-2005 12:56 PM

I can understand that. Like I said, I just paid Subaru for these manuals. I have absolutely no compunction in giving out a page or two to help, but I'm not gonna throw the whole thing on my ftp for general consumption...
