ABS problem

My ABS light came on on the drive home today, stayed on the whole way home. about an hour later I went outside, and noticed a buzzing noise coming from under the hood, magically, it is coming from the ABS box there, I pulled the fuse and it stopped, I'm gonna go check the codes in a few minutes, but I wanted to throw this out in case anyone had some idea as to what is going on...

please let it be inexpensive, I'm already over budget for the year on the car

Remove the cover and locate the component making the noise and advise further. Meantime do not panic. ;)

It very well could be the ABS pump motor sullinoid. It is known to go bad in early model Subarus with ABS.

Sounds (pun?) like a likely bet. :)

well, I went out and drove it for a bit, hoping what ever was broken would just fall off :) seriously, I brought it back, and realized I had no idea where the little blinking light for the abs was located, (I mean I know where it is SUPPOSED to be) do I have to take the seat out or something?

Anyhoo, I should have said in the first post, it sounds very much like the motor is just continuing to spin. assuming it is the solenoid, where is that located?

oh, and Trevor, thank you for the don't panic, it actually helped me some.. :)
