Throttle response mod

I was thinking about doing the mod to improve my throttle response. I read that the car idles around 600rpm which it appears mine does.
When you take the slack out of the cables, it doesn't necessarily increase the rpm's right? unless you keep tightening the nuts.
Is any one using the OBDII programmer while the car is idling to see what rpms the car is really running at? Or are you just estimating by looking at the tach?....Also, am I correct that you use the OBDII programmer?

It's been done already - instructions in this post: linkey

You adjust as much as you can without affecting idle RPM's

...

I've just realized...

You can't use an inductive rev meter with the funky distributor-less SVX ignition, can you? So are you just using the tach to check rpms, or what?

The AWD dyno that Chike and I have been to uses an inductive pickup on one of the wires going to one of the passenger-side coils/plugs to feed the engine rpms into the dyno's computer. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here...

I was just wondering if an inductive tach would pick it up, since the coils are on the wrong side of the plug wires...

Okay. So, the answer is yes:cool:
