SVX Grille Lights

The SVX grille was asking to be modded.
It looks like a light but it's not.
I decided to make it useful by incorporating my alarm status into it.
Really stands out in the dark and there is no doubt that the alarm is armed!
It is shown running in demo mode which goes through most of it's patterns, but I usually leave it set to just a single pattern.
And yes, I know about the other Knight Rider Svx mods.

I like it! What alarm system are you using? How did you modify the grill?

Re: SVX Grille Lights

OK, the light bar I got off Ebay - 22 in. long, a perfect fit.

Drilled a 3/4 in. hole at each end of the grille. - should have taken pictures.

Slid the light bar into the grille and attached it inside with a plastic epoxy - it is a stick of epoxy in 2 parts you knead together to mix - has the consistency of clay.

After it hardens I sealed the ends with a small piece of aluminum tape thats used for home a/c also a little RTV around where the ribbon wire exits.

Any alarm that has either a 12 volt or ground when armed will work. - Ed

Can you link the Light Bar? Because not all light bars have sectional control, most are just all on/off.

Found the green LED light Bar at Knightlight.co.uk HERE. A little pricey at $161.00 plus shipping.

Also available in blue, yellow and red for your viewing pleasure

Re: SVX Grille Lights

That was the first one I looked at, but I believe it's too big to fit inside the grille without major surgery.

Probably the easiest thing to do in cut the bottom of the grille out, attach the LED assembly directly to it and reseal.
