Front Bumper Removal????
 

Just wondering, how I would go about removing the front bumper cover? I just want to straighten it out even, so the gaps under the blinker lights & light housing would be even. I am planning to try to attempt this when summer comes around. I also know the link to subaruparts.com showing the exploded view. It looks deceiving, so if anyone has instructions, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

It's not difficult, just time consuming.

You need to remove the headlights and grill. Then there are bolts holding it on across the top of the bumper, as well as in the large opening at the bottom of the bumper. There are also some bolts to remove behind the mud guard.

I think I would recommend removing the entire bumper - beam, cover and all. It's less time consuming and you'll see how it all bolts to the beam so you can find where your gap problem comes from.

You'll also have to remove your lights first, and you may find that your problem is there, anyway.

The bumper is heavy - I recommend having somebody handy to help you pull it out so you can be careful to not knock anything.

Don't forget the two bolts that are right at the top, rearmost point of the bumper attaching it to the fender and the two bolts behind the turn signals.

Thank you for all your advice. I will try it this summer when the weather gets warmer. It was never this way before, cause I had my car professionally painted before and the place where I had my car done takes their time. The collesion shop that I went to is where the local BMW and Audi dealers take their cars to be painted. So they take their time and remove the bumper tail lights, head lights, blinkers, even door handles, they try not to just mask it off, just to save time. So I suspect someone hit my bumper a little in the parking lot to cause my bumper to be not even anymore. Again, I really apreciate all your advice. Glad I joined this forum.:)
