Just curious, what ever happened to the other forum?
 

IIRC there was some contention between the two boards but I hopped on one day and it was just gone. Just really curious what happened and/or why it went away. Anyone have any insight?

I'm more curious where all the users of this one went. Facebook? I posted what I thought was an interesting topic/question a few days ago and have received a few views but no responses. This seems the norm now.

Yeah! That too. I have gotten some responses to other posts but it usually takes a few days if not a week or more. It is unfortunate.

The other forum was lost because the guy that started it was an ass to the people then expected them to pay for the fees.

Or at least that is the impression I got.

The yearly fees were not renewed and it went away. Regardless of anyone's option on Jason, there was a lot of data there and it's a loss for our community in general due to that.

I got along well with jason, though I generally get along with everyone.

I did however see he had issues with many people and he had no qualms about being extremely abrasive.

I'm fairly new to this forum, but yes, also noted that there isn't much interaction here. I have been using this forum as a great resource though.

The forum has been and always will be, what members made and make of it. Sadly both the car and the basis of interest is now becoming rather tired. However your new blood, combined with others, could result in a renaissance.

I think you were the first person I made contact with on joining the forum, so yes we are dinosaurs. Damn it I turn bloody 90 in March, and am farting real well. Sold my SVX over four years ago and haven't seen it since. Still have my little MX5 for fun and games and never put the top up.

Actually I did not sneak back in, I was several times invited after having been booted out so long ago. Eventually with a bit more time available I decided why not. I had still remained interested in the forum and over the years have often discussed things with several members via email. Place isn't what it used to be that's for sure, but with you on the scene there is a glimmer in a dull sky. LOL

I've gone upscale in my advancing age & now drink from various glass bottles, but cheap stuff as usual. I still have the '92 SVX, but, I too added an '01 MX5 SE to the stable. 8 years ago I moved to a part of this country (the Blue Ridge mountains) that encourages top down jaunts on curvy roads. I am with you and the most expensive is not always the best. My son makes a very good home brew which keeps me happy and costs bugger all. LOL

Suddenly after all these years I have got "The box o' wine story". I always thought it referred to a box of twelve bottles or what we call a carton, whereas I now have the correct picture which is what we call a wine-pack, i.e. a plastic lined box with a tap on the side. Excellent because the wine does not become exposed to the air and does not have to be drunk immediately on opening. Certainly no indication that the contents are cheap and nasty, unless you are one of the taste-the-label types. LOL
