Why War???

I just don't think that United States or the World should even think about going to war. It is just not necessary. I might have missed something, but what is the reason for all this? It seems to me that Bush just woke up one day and said, "Let's go to war!" And then the reasons began to pile up.

We are in the 21 century now, when everything and everyone are finally trying to get along. Trying to forget those previous wars, or at least LEARN from them, wars do not do any good to anyone!!! However, someone stands up and brings a new war to this century............

This is all very sad and shameful.....................

should we have just kept our nose out of Hitler's business, too?

zamorush 03-19-2003 07:42 PM

But Hitler attacked us, not we attacked him! Plus it all started in europe in 1939, US entered this war not till 1944, and majorly with Japan. (Please correct me if I am wrong)

when and where exactly did Hitler attack the U.S.? Japan did, and now we buy their cars. :D

i don't really want to get into this subject, but would leaving him in power be a better solution? give him time to develop nuclear weapons that he will sell to Al-Qaeda to use here in the U.S.? i don't like the idea of the U.S. being the "world's police force." i'd like to see that money spent here in America, but this needs to be resolved - Saddam has said f-you to diplomacy, so now that leaves forceful removal. should we try another 10 years of peaceful negotiating while he laughs and develops an arsenal? no thanks, let's get him.

Nik,

If you don’t think it’s the right thing to do, I don’t think anything anyone says will change your mind. Opinions were discussed in depth in Larry’s thread “O/T-Sad About War”…. Regardless… It has started… Pray for our troops…. Pray it’s the right thing to do…. Pray for our country….

I agree, Bill. It's started, and it is too late to discuss wheither or not it it should be done. Now all we have to do is hope our troops get through this without harm.

:(

I must say that right or not I am offended that you feel our leaders are so cavalier with human life that you believe Bush just woke up one day and said lets go to war, I'm sorry but that is just Shameful.

Having significant experiance in the Intel world I'm sure that there is alot of information that we just aren't privvy to. I'm tired of people saying that this is a plot for revenge, or a way to get oil.

Are people aware that only .04 cents per dollar of our OIL comes from the middle east at all, if this was about OIL we'd be in Venuzuala or Canada where we buy most of our oil.

I'm not happy about war, it doesn't get me excited, but we can't afford to sit around and wait for another 9-11, and Saddam, while not the only one is the type of person who would very much like to see and i bleieve works to make things like that happen.

Too many people get their news, intelligence, and overall political philosophy from MTV these days. Please zamorush, tell me you're not one of them.

I dont think Bush just"woke up one day" and thought"lets go to war" . We are in this so that 9/11 dosent have a sequel. Plain and simple.

Nope, Steve, I am not one of them. In fact most of my news right now I get from my AmerGov class, and Google News. My teacher is a bit too liberal so, yeah, she is spreading this around.

For All
I am not trying to offend anyone, I just don't like things the way they have gone. And all I wrote was my opinion. Oil, and its prices have nothing to do with that.
Also about 9/11, I can see that as an attack on US without notice from Ben Laden or whoever it was. But don't you guys think that US is doing the same thing to Iraq, but only warning them about that? (Please don't get offended, i did not mean to do that, that is just a question)

I'm sorry, but some people aren't as conservative as you are, Steve.

sometimes it necessary...

and its hardly even a war to be honest.....
Its more of a takeover imho.....
It needs to be done, this guys a frickin nutcase and a timebomb
waiting to go off. We are just beating him to the punch. We dont need anymore surprises. Hes had plenty of time to back off and dis-arm and basically tells us to F-off. Too bad rest of the worlds to much of a pu**Y to take a stand. Once hes gone, we can get out and let them start fresh
with a more sane, real type of democracy and we can all get on with our lives like they where, and a better stronger economy and less un employeed US.
I just hope its swift and final this time, with as few casualties
as possible.
