Hey Everyone, I have a HUGE Announcement! :) As some of you already know, I've been working on a book. Well, it's finally done and I have published it on Amazon!!

It's called "The Orb of Chaos Vol. 1: No Rest for the Wicked”. It is an adventure story that takes a group of guys to a hellish realm ruled by a Demonic King named Nicholas DeVanya. For centuries Nicholas has slowly putting together an ancient artifact called ‘The Orb of Chaos’ and wants to use it to destroy all life on the planet. In order to get back home, Sol, Oather and the other poor souls that have also become stranded in Nicholas’ realm, must band together and destroy the Orb before Nicholas can use it to destroy them and everything they know.

Being a sci-fi fan I ordered the book, even though they suggested I might be too old. :( The first 2 reviews are sure positive.

Sorry Gene, that's more than likely my fault. Were you referring to where it says "It is aimed at teens and young adults but has been enjoyed by virtually all ages of those with a curious and adventurous spirit."?

If so, yeah, my bad. Didn't mean to say it's not good for more advanced readers, just that it can be enjoyed by anyone, even younger readers.

Perhaps I should re-phrase that. Got any suggestions?

Man, don't feel bad. No offense taken. I look forward to reading the book, in paperback, where I can fold pages and leave my greasy fingerprints. I bet it will be a good read. Don't underestimate the breadth of your readership to soon. Your approach is wise until you see how it is accepted.

I received the book in the mail today. Over 550 pages?:eek: You are a prolific writer. Giving Michener a run for his money? Don't expect to hear from me too quickly.:lol:

Lol, yeah, it's long for a first time novel (155k words) but trust me, it reads quick. Plus, you'll notice in the printed version there is additional spacing. Yes, that makes the book thicker, but after a lot of playing with the settings, I thought it ultimately made it much easier to read that way.

FYI...the printed version of my book is on Amazon for $11.86 if anyone wants one. I don't know how long the price will be set this low (I have no control over it, and that price is lower than I even have the ability to set). So, if you want a printed copy, and want to save a few bucks, I'd get it now before Amazon changes it's mind.

I finished the book and, must say, a great read for all ages. Set in Mid evil times on an Earth-like world with magic, sorcery and mythological creatures. Great development of characters in what are sub-stories of their own, all converging on a situation, not of the main charcters doing, requiring them to save the world from evil domination. I am looking forward to Volume 2.

Winter is coming, buy a copy and support a fellow forum member.
