Erie, PA Sighting

SVXs have become increasingly rare around here. I suspect mainly due to rust. It has become a very special experience to see one in the wild. I saw one today at an oral surgery place at the corner of grandview and zuck. It was really banged up and REALLY rusty. Good to see the old girl out and about in the weather for which she was designed, though! Mine and its faulty AWD stayed home today!

Oddly, SVX sightings are up here in Portland, OR.

Saw 3 SVX' in SE the other day, in about 1/2 time period. I was excitied.

BTW, I used to live in Erie, went to Fort Leboeuf for a few years. Still have family there. I remember a train shop on Zuck, near the Shriners.

I really think the massive amounts of road salt they use here is what has killed them off. When I first moved to western Pennsylvania 10 years ago, I saw them EVERYWHERE. Now I'm lucky if I see one a month.

And to stimulate new car sales. We've been through 700 tons of salt so far this year but yet it must be all the nitrates from the farms killing the bay right?

Was that svx really that bad? Looked decent from the pic. Reminds me of how much I miss my new silver svx, can't wait for this winter to be over to take her out of the garage.

As for sightings, here in the DC metro area it is very very rare to see one, the only way i can get my fix is by looking at pics of fellow members cars here on the network

Chris-

It had rust all along where the plastic cladding meets the steel body of the car. On the front fender, door, and rear quarter. I didn't look at the other side.
