AC CODE 15 (help)
My A/c Went out (heat works fine), so I checked the Diagnostic came up code 15. WHich is the code for "open in Refrigerant temperture sensor circuit"
STep one is to remove the glove box. so first question are there any documents on how to do this safely? are there any concerns with triggering the airbags? Has anyone ahd any success with fixing this problem? thank you |
triggering airbags can be avoided by disconnecting the batery and waiting for AT LEAST 10 minutes befor working near ANY airbag or crash sensors. personally, my fear of an airbag accidentally deploying in my face has me doing this every time i work anywhere near one.

I don't know of any particular cautions (haven't done it myself). You will have to have the battery connected to run the tests.

Removing the glovebox isn't difficult. Pretty straightforward. The bugger about the glovebox is that the door glides keep it partially affixed (if I remember correctly when I was fixing my alarm unit). Don't recall sensors being in that area, but, just to be safe, I'd follow "freak's" recommendation for disengagement. Fortunately <knocking wood> I've not had to tackle any A/C difficulties.

Took it to the Subaru dealer today and its various O-ring leaks and theres no freon so never mind but thanks.

Probably the better thing to do. Though, through personal experience, I've found that dealerships are way too unfamiliar with the SVX, they should do quite well with AC stuff. Hope they are good to you when the bill comes. Best of luck. |
