cant find the damn relay even after looking at the clickclick start q&a,
i found the spot where it should be screwed to my steering column but its not |
Re: neutral safety relay
I can't tell in the photos, is that the steering column and the center heater side?
The starter inhibitor relay is on the other side of the steering column, between the column and the drivers side fender/door. And the thing that keeps your gear shift from being able to move from drive to park, is under the arm rest next to the parking brake. |
Re: neutral safety relay
the picture is between the column and the heater core area.
i'll look on the other side between the column and the door. |
Re: neutral safety relay
You talking about the bosh relay

Re: neutral safety relay
This is it I think, but if it is then its not on the right side of the column its the left but it should be attached to the column, mine is not because of work done/still doing.

Re: neutral safety relay
There are 2 under there. One is the turn sig flasher. They look alike. Mine is Blue.

Re: neutral safety relay
my turn signal flasher is zip tied to the column, I have led tails and stock flasher hyper blinks so I bought led flasher and the pins were wrong so I put jumper pins in.

Re: neutral safety relay
its official this damn relay does not exist! nor the wiring, i'm wondering if i pulled that harness when i unplugged the auto wiring harness from the car. i've only tapped into the neutral safety wiring to rig is to a switch when i did the manual swap.

Re: neutral safety relay
there are random times where the you can hear the starter trying to engage. or at least it clicking forward but not fulling turning over. sometimes it takes 3 times or 20. or sometimes it starts up right away.
|
Re: neutral safety relay
Ok that is either the starter inhibitor or the ignition switch, the best solution for that is really that "bandaid" fix, put a relay on the starter itself, the wiring through the car should not need to run 30 amps but it does the relay at the starter allows full power at the starter with only a fraction of the amps to initiate the process.
