I fixed mine with new foam gaskets from subarugenuineparts.com, and used silicon to seal around the seams and tabs.

I heated them up so that I could separate them. Left them open for a day or two, then heated them back up to put them back together. Then cleaned off the existing rubber seals and also used black RTV to ensure they were sealed up completely. Haven't had a problem since on my silver. Just need to do it to my other SVXi now.

Bake to get the water out. Electrical tape around the seams to keep the water out. Kind of ugly, but gets the job done.

Oh forgot....... the quickest way is to prop a blow-dryer to aim in either bulb hole and just leave it on high for a bit. Mine cleared out in about 30 minutes. THEN reseal them to keep the water out.

I would use something clear rather than something black like RTV, just in case it ends up being visible when you put everything back together. Clear silicone would be my choice. It's on my list of things to do as well... headlights though.

Take apart the assembly, take out the defusers, reassemble the lights..
It seems like they keep getting stuck behind the defusers and removing them entirely might solve the problem... They look cool too. |
