anyone seen this!?

Apparently this site is home to a German built turbo kit for the SVX... sorry if this is ancient.

Google "Forced Air Technologies, SVX"

It's been known, and since it isn't intercooled its only a 30-40hp increase....

Edit: It doesn't look like they offer this kit anymore. It's not listed on their site.

That's a pity.

That kit would work OK if it had the addition of water or alcohol injection.
It's a pity they only offered it as a bolt-on. Because the SVX has standard CR of 10:1 even moderate boost causes the closed loop detonation system to curtail timing.

They do still offer this kit, $5500 installed. too much for only ~50-80 hp

It is extremely unwise of them to sell this kit without insisting on fitting a water injection kit.

Say for argument's sake you added a water/meths injection kit for an extra $500 or so.

Assuming [entirely possible!] the fluid injection brings the cooling efficiency to 80% and the boost pressure [which is controlled by a dump valve setting] was raised to 9 or 10 lbs, then the engine would be making well over 400 hp crank.

So for $5500 they are selling a piece of crap, while for $6000 you could be making enough hp to give your transmission and your tyres some problems!

Unimaginative marketing.

Joe

I did water/meths injection on my 1987 Honda Civic (1300cc non-injection) - I placed a 0.5mm spacer plate between block & head.

Then I placed a Garret turbo (T04 type) with waste gate & 2.5 inch SU carb - the carb had a copper tube with a swaged end, then a small drill hole placed in the tube to squirt water/meths to air inlet side of carb, had it set for 20lb boost with water injection, the water injection was a simple window washer bottle that was turned on with an adjustable pressure switch from the inlet manifold - I used this setup for 12 years (with only one engine / turbo rebuild - after 240,000 kms) - had the car for over 15 years before I sold it to a local Honda mechanic....
