Removing screen on Air Flow Sensor MAF

Does anyone here know how to remove the screen on the Maf sensor? If so, how do I go about it? Thanks!

You just yank it out - I have done it on one of the cars. Did not notice any difference in performance.

Thanks! I didn't know it was as simple as yanking it out. I have been trying to pry it out without success. I didn't want to break. I'm not trying to remove it for performance purposes. I'm trying to transfer the screen to another SVX air flow meter that's functional. It's not necessary though.

As far as performance, check out this article:
Autospeed: Eliminating Negative Boost

They took out the screen and noticed a slight 'gain' in performance in the way of reduced pressure drops. ;)

i deffinatly wouldn't run w/o that screen
it's the last line of defense for any particles that would have their way with blowing that delicate little film to bits

That is one cool article! Great DIY tech stuff.

I bet you think I have some ricey ideas in mind or what not huh? I see where you are going with this. Thanks anyway! Hopefully my idea will work. I'll post up here if it does.

Just to reiterate what I was saying earlier, I wasn't trying to remove the screen for performance. I simply wanted to put it on another SVX maf that I purchased from a salvage yard that is functional. The functional SVX maf has no screen on either side of it and I'm trying to protect the internals (air flow sensor). It's not necessary though but since I have a screen on the disfunctional SVX maf, I simply wanted to transfer it over.
