Removing screen on Air Flow Sensor MAF
Does anyone here know how to remove the screen on the Maf sensor? If so, how do I go about it? Thanks!

You just yank it out - I have done it on one of the cars. Did not notice any difference in performance.

Thanks

As far as performance, check out this article: Autospeed: Eliminating Negative Boost They took out the screen and noticed a slight 'gain' in performance in the way of reduced pressure drops. ;) |
i deffinatly wouldn't run w/o that screen
it's the last line of defense for any particles that would have their way with blowing that delicate little film to bits |
Drop a computer fan in the intake while your at it! :D

Just to reiterate what I was saying earlier, I wasn't trying to remove the screen for performance. I simply wanted to put it on another SVX maf that I purchased from a salvage yard that is functional. The functional SVX maf has no screen on either side of it and I'm trying to protect the internals (air flow sensor). It's not necessary though but since I have a screen on the disfunctional SVX maf, I simply wanted to transfer it over. |
