What is the current opinion on the aftermarket belt kits?

PCI:

Other kit:

The prices appear to be much better than OEM Subaru parts.

But what about the quality? I know there are some different opinions on PCI but has anyone actually had any problems using that kit?

The PCI kits are very good which is your first link. However, do go with an OEM water pump. (also, you will need a European market water pump with the extra nipple for the oil cooler as opposed to the US water pump with only 2)

OK, so PCI kit is safe and nice. Thanks:)

Good (or bad) to know they're out. I had figured the price was insane. And I had thought someone was able to fit an extra fitting in there. ;)

Well, they are just not stocked. Four weeks delivery time from Japan and price is app 200 GBP shipped to Finland:
Total price including shipping will be £192.98. However it could take up to 4 weeks to get one as they are currently not in stock in Europe.

Tapani, do you have more pictures of the pump or did you rebuild your car?

A parts dealer got 3 hits on the part number, 3 different pumpt. He was specifically wondering if "the wheel / runner was grooved or plain".

Yes, I did.

The USM pump part number is 21111AA033 and the EURO pump is 21111AA070.

I orderder OE parts from the States - and drilled for the extra fitting to the USM pump (and added the heat exchanger from a WRX).

Looks neat but no pic of the actual euro pump?

No - because I do not have one. It's similar to the USM - except for the extra fitting, which I drilled and tapped myself (visible in the pic).

Maybe I should just go this route myself.

The extra fitting / nipple, does it have part number?

I seem to recall that the US pumps come "engraved" with where to drill the extra outtake?

It is a generic part for compressed air with G1/4" thread - you need to have access to a tap and a drill too.

The USM pump casting has the boss for the third fitting, but it is not drilled - as can be seen in the first photo I posted.
