My -96's radio/Cd setup is dying - looking for an upgrade, whaddya have?!?!

I too am interested in a single din replacement. I found a single din 3 gauge pod that could be fit in place of the cd player if the radio had a built in CD player. I was thinking of Alpine as I had an Alpine in my old Outback and it was a great radio/cd player. I have noticed that the reception on the stock radio is not so great. Stations I used to pull in with my old Alpine do not lock in on the stock radio.

I haven't researched radios in 13 years but, based on old experience, Alpine radios have great reception so they have my vote for now.

What should it be cleaned with?

And does it matter what oil is used? Would WD-40 work well?

I remember reading in an old RF book that waxing antennas can help their reception. Maybe I should put a thin layer of collinite on the antenna? Or maybe that would gum it up.......
