DVR Question
For all you computer experts....
I have a computer that could be a HTPC. It has most of the stuff one might need....like 4Gb, XP, Intel E7500, Gigabyte M/B 400 gb hard drive in two drives, HDMI tv output (a real HDMI output), Small :p . What I am lacking is a tv tuner card and the software. I have comcast cable now w/ hd, what should I get that will let me record HD tv? Thanks |
Re: DVR Question
Pretty much just a HiDef tuner card with the appropriate software.

Re: DVR Question
I would read up on the ATI/AMD TV Wonder lines. Their digital tuners are supposed to be pretty good and work well in Media center applications.

Re: DVR Question
If you get one with a Digital Cable tuner that supports a CableCARD, you can use your PC to tune digital cable channels directly, your cable company will provide you with a CableCARD.
Another option is to use the HDMI, you can plug that in to your cable box if it has an HDMI output, only problem is HDCP but there are boxes out there that will take care of the HDCP crap. |
