The time has come...

I never thought it would - but the cliche "never say never" would apply here too. I will soon be putting my SVX on the market, as soon as I can take some current photos...although truthfully any picture I have taken of the car in the last 13 years would still show what it looks like today.
Someone recently dug up an ancient thread, asking "where have all the old-timers gone?". I answered something to the effect that "People sell their cars, or they keep them but suddenly life has newer, more interesting things to occupy them...."
So...I coincidentily find that I am in that place now. No more info on the car now, since this is not the appropriate place for it, but those of you you that know the car and have an interest or know of someone who might - feel free to email. I would love to keep it in the Network, would like to see it in the hands of someone who would give it a good home.
More later...and I also have a bunch of JDM goodies as well that will be available....

That was I

Yeah from relying upon mine for a DD, I can sympathize with needing something else... newer at least. At any rate, hope it sells for what it is truly worth, not what the market says it is. The only ones who really know what our car is about are current and previous owners..... hopefully you get one of those.

I really don't plan on getting something else, I have plenty of vehicles. The SVX has always been a passion and a luxury - besides, whenever the question has been posed "what would you replace your SVX with?", I have never had an answer - other than another SVX.
As far as what it is truly worth....wow...don't know about that. I plan on being realistic but I'm not going to give it away. Still, I need to simplify my life at the moment and I don't want to hold onto it just for the sake of holding on to it.

Say it isn't so.
A couple of years ago Jerry had a problem with his beautiful Green SVX.
It hesitated to engage when shifting from forward to reverse, or from
reverse to forward.
I drove his VERY close to perfect SVX back the six hours or so to my shop.
It ran and drove like a new SVX and I should know.
I sold them when they were new.
I hesitated to begin the agreed to 4.44 swap and drove the car locally for about three days before I experienced what Jerry had felt.
I love the 4.44 swap and how it transforms the car, but Jerry's was so close to new I actually "wanted Her to stay a Virgin".

This coming from a guy who does not think swapping an engine or transmission in an SVX is a big repair!

If Jerry's SVX is anything like it was about three years ago, then His is a FINE example, and ANYONE should/Would be proud to own Her.

Wish I could afford to house two SVXs... one imperfect one for daily slogging, and one pristine example for nice days and trips...

Sounds like this car is likely close to that. But I have no more money. :D

Any big pics of the car?

Thanks Tom. And yes it is pretty much exactly as it was when you worked on it.
I hate to sell it. It's a decision taken after much soul searching (and yes wallet searching too). You know I always hated to see threads like this from others (How can they do that???) and now here I am.

"Say it ain't so's" already been said so I won't overdo it.
But I'll repeat what I've stated before - This is one of the finest examples of a '92 that I've ever seen - almost as nice as mine:p
Sorry to see ya' leave, Jerry. Does Texas have something to do with it?
Ain't many purdy hills & hollers in Houston!

Stay in touch - Ron.

Hey Ron! I was just thinking about you today - disturbing isn't it?;)
I have been having the usual panic attacks, second thoughts, cold feet, etc. with thoughts of parting with the car but it's the right thing to do. Texas has a "little" bit to do with it. I will be starting from scratch when we move down there and I have to simplify my life. Still a couple years off but I hate to drag things out.

Re: The time has come...

Well after months of procrastination, denial, indecision and changing my mind a few times, it's official - the SVX is for sale. Check out the "Cars for Sale" forum. I still don't want to sell it - but reality has a way of making itself obvious in time. I've posted what I think it's worth - and if you compare it to other less expensive SVXii and tally up the costs of bringing them up to where this one is now - it's a bargain. Again, reality has a way of making itself known and the market will decide. If you're looking for a really pristine example, this probably one of the best out there. I'll consider all offers.

Do you like your Baja and how does it compare to the SVX for comfort? My wife has always wanted one of those Bajas
