Hello everyone...

I finally got my first SVX about a week ago at the auction...wanted one ever since I first saw them years ago. It’s a 92' AWD with about 140k miles. Been lurking around here for the past few days trying to catch up on all the SVX basics :D I'm glad theres a forum like this so I don’t have to find things out the hard way. Looks like after I get the front damage fixed the first mods will be a nice huge atf cooler, new filters, and a sc shift kit. The car seems to be really well cared for. Trany oil looked brand new, so did the alternator and radiator hoses. Car also had an optima battery and silverstar headlights which were a nice little bonus  From what I can tell driving it, the trans shifts flawless and no bearing noises *knock on wood*

P.S If anyone has a front bumper reinforcement they can sell me let me know :)

Welcome to the site. Did you get a good deal on it? The things that you mention are a very good idea to put on the car. Hope you and the car have many miles of fun driving. :)

I bought mine at an auction too. So far I haven't had any problems. Good luck with yours! :)

Thanx :)
After parts and everything it should end up around $2000... and that’s with me doing all the work of course.

It is hard to believe that you can buy a car like this for so cheap. Yes, it will require some work and TLC, but it still amazes me. :)

looks like the front end of my car  I paid 3k with a blown motor  really starting to think it was a bad move on my part. Then again, it is a 5mt

Yes yes, welcome. I find the folks here are generally very helpful. And since this is a forum there is a LOT of stored info here. So you may be able to use the search and answer your question super fast.

Mine is a 1994 - L. It is the fastest car I have ever owned. I paid 3800 for it and an extra 1000 for a 2 year 24K miles warranty. I have a flexalite 20x10 ATF cooler waiting to be installed and the SC shift kit is on order, going to see about installing both this weekend.

Again, welcome (Not that I have been here that long).

i got mine at the auction too. body is perfect except for a driver side turn signal is broken. and the normal rock chips in the paint. i paid 1600 for mine. now i have a blown front differential. mostly due to part of driving it hard.

Kiteless 07-13-2005 05:31 PM

Supposedly you are supposed to re-greese those every 15K miles. But is it me or does it seem like that is a little excessive?

Welcome! :)

front diffs usually detonate due to leaky seals or lack of oil. General maint and checking your fluids can help to avoid this problem

Huh and I thought mine just needed to loose its baby teeth.

guess I gotta blame the leaky (and then fixed) seal :(

Congrats on the SVX, triumph! :D
