I think they should just offer the STi drivetrain in a more stealthy package in the first place: the Impreza wagon body. In fact, if money were no object, or at least if I had a lot of it to waste, that's what I'd do: buy a WRX wagon and swap in an STi drivetrain. Heh, or maybe most of the drivetrain.... switch out the 2.5L for a 3.0L out of an Outback... H6 Impreza wagon turbo.... the ultimate sleeper. |
why don't they just put that wrx drivetrain into a more stylish more luxurious looking car. I mean the wrx is nice, but in my opinion screams econobox looks! I mean even putting the wrx drivetrain into the legacy would be better combination.

The Legacy GT is already pretty fast... something tells me that maybe it makes more than its advertised 250hp. In essence, it may already have an STi drivetrain. Though it does need the STi 6-speed :)

seriously i think that the financial fiasco brought on by the svx has shyed subaru away from going in that direction. It is nice to dream though!

Anyone else notice the HP/TQ has dropped? Used to be 300/300...now 293/290.

Probably due to the new SAE measurement standards that were brought in this year. A lot of the Asian makes lost power, while some of the domestics gained power by the new standard.
