removing exhaust tips
 

I'd like to give my exhaust tips a good cleaning, is it possible to remove them?

i read in this thread that if you want them replaced, they need to be cut off and the new ones welded on:

if it is possible to simply remove them, is this the clamp that holds the tip on the end of the exhaust pipe? (i know, mine are horribly rusted:o)
