I've put my SVX up for sale on Pistonheads

Due to changes in my business I have decided to sell the SVX its on Pistonheads along with my RX7, the SVX is up for sale for £2000 excluding the numberplate if anyone on this forum is interested let me know. P.S. can I still turn up to the proposed meet in a Mercedes Benz CL 600 or will I be blackballed

Yeah, we're going to have to black ball you.

I'll bring the boot polish and Joe can rub it on.

Oh dear. What's brought this on, surely not the prospect of satisfying more waiting on staff at the meet hotel?
Joking apart I reckon your car is well worth what you are asking, if not double that having seen it.

I reluctantly admit I've bought yet another Volvo, this time an estate /auto with a mere bagatelle of 213000 miles on the clock - cheaper than fixing the old one - how mad is that. Same engine so I can swop the lpg kit over. SVX still in the garage though, out soon.
You are all welcome to borrow this new Volvo addition, a 130bhp/2 ton gem. When you get back in the SVX you will smile for days....
Volvo has the wonderful option that if you really get pisse* off with the car in front that's just cut you up, it'll cost peanuts to ram him, with the added benefit that you'll be able to drive off afterwards and remain anonymous as long as you've avoided plate washing for a while...

Re: I've put my SVX up for sale on Pistonheads

I'd really like to to keep both of them but her indoors already says 'you can't drive two cars at once' the logic of which still baffles me but hey.
With me having to do journeys all around the country I need something to waft to my destination I am having second thoughts about the V12 bi turbo Cl 600 though now having been on the owners forum they do cost a fortune to keep although relatively inexpensive to buy even the 2004 ones, today I have put in an offer for a 2005 CL 500 with the essential extra I'm after massaging seats that are linked to the air-con system and blow cooled air through the perforated seats which I can assure you on a hot day can not be beaten although this feature could be considered a bit pervy by a cynical thinking person.

Just think, Dave, you'll be able to put what you get for your SVX towards the next service on the Merc!
Sorry - how *****y.
I've been tempted myself to spend a few bob on a luxury car - they seem to be stunning value at present.
Trouble is, I know two self made millionaires. One once said to me 'Affluence breeds success' Steve, and ran a Rolls. The other one drives an Escort with a roof rack. Guess which one I regard as a mentor....

Well power does corrupt (BHP) because I've actually bought a facelift Mecedes Benz CL 55 AMG its got a supercharger as standard and pushes out 500 bhp its got a lovely howl from the 5.5 litre V8 through the four exhaust pipes.
Your right Steve they are dear to run but I don't care (well at least thats what I say now) I have sorted out a good independant Merc specialist who has a very good name amongst the forum community so it may save a little in the long run

Well, this V8 power thing does corrupt.

We have already lost at least one core [hard core @ that] member to the uberwagen brigade. I mean James, jamsvx. If memory serves Mark [94 UK red & black] also jumped ship to an SL 500 which would be more my thang than the flash but worthy CL.

Dave, does the CL55 have the air conditioned seats? With the markets this volatile you will be needing to freeze your assets.

Joe

Hey Steve :D

I see you have just discovered you can't say b1tch round here. I think it's probably a very bad word in the States, or something.

My new job involves travel. Not much right now, but will be much more serious in the not too distant future. I've just done a lot of calculations, and have come to the same conclusion as Dave. Unless the mileage is intergalactic it is not necessarily a given that the diesel will be absolutely necessary to have. I'm keeping my petrol car, for now.

If fuel costs for me get to around €150 per week, then I'll consider changing to a diesel. I'm not about to save money in one pocket through buying less fuel, but hand out more money in capital to a dealer from the other pocket just because diesels make premium prices and dealers like high prices. :tard:

You can guess which of your millionaire friends I would pick for a mentor.

Joe :)

Well I say enjoy your cars whatever they are while you still have your wits about you because before very long you'll be an old twat pottering around in a Yaris or worse.

Re: I've put my SVX up for sale on Pistonheads

How weird is that - twat is fine but b1tch is censored! What are female dogs called in the US then?
As for the old age, I've been getting plenty of time in supermarket car parks as the wife's stopped driving. Seeing the Yaris brigade in action first hand my best car of (my) future would be a Volvo with a framework of railway line welded around it.
What really puzzles me though is why, if you have trouble finishing toilet visits, would you wear trousers that are designed to show stains? Perhaps it's so you can see which side to fish it out from next time.....

Dave you must attend the meet this year so we can have a go in a 500bhp car!

lol, they are actually called b!tches here too, but it is way more common to hear that word used to insult and demean women. Is it not used that way in Europe?

It's not perceived as such an insult, but depends on the way it is used and the tolerance of the target.

However the terms b!tchy and b!tching are used here all the time even in polite conversation.

However the American nanny software keeps on asterisking [new word, how 'bout that?] the partial word which is a total pain in the hole.

:(
