Svx in ad for a Dragstrip event in FL

I was browsing thru the latest Grassroots mag and saw
an ad for an event coming up in FL.
One of the 2 cars launching off the line at the race track
is..... an SVX.
Whos car is this anyone ?

Yeah, that's the car that Benebob and I have. The picture is from last years Grassroots Motorsports $2006 Challenge.

Hmm, where might one find that magazine? I know someone who would probably like to have that ad, considering it was her car before it was the racer :)

I'll go try Barnes & Noble or Borders after work tomorrow.

We won't be back this year. Maybe next year with another project. SVXride may be there this year???

The format was, line up and run all day. At the end of the day, hand in your best time slip. I can't find the slips but our best for the day was 14.242. The VW's was 15.335.

Overall we finished 25th out of ~70 the Rabbit came in 27th. He made up for lack of speed in the concourse judging.

The 2013 Grassroots Challenge is coming up this weekend at the Gainesville Raceway (September 28 - 29). Autocross on Friday, drag runs and concours on Saturday. $2,013 for cost of car and building it, credit for parts sold off of car. Cost for cosmetics doesn't count.
Always some interesting and "no way you could build that for that price" entrants. Hope to see another SVX there some day.
