weird noise from center of car
the noise is coming from the center of the car. it sounds like a band saw going. it gets louder as u drive faster. no difference if u put in neutral while driveing. does not make that sound while in idle

Something rubbing on the driveshaft?
|
My bet would be e-brake cables or one of the heat shields on the drive shaft.

svx.net novice says wheel bearings. I've driven my svx for one month now. I replaced the RR wheel bearing. Now I have to replace LR wheel bearing. Both sound as if they are coming from the middle of the car. Sounds exactly like a band saw, noise is speed sensitive, and present regarless of Neutral or Drive! Maybe you've already replaced them but I just thought I'd throw in the obvious. :)

it is coming from the front of the shifter in the car while driveing. when u put your hand down on floor infront the shifter u can feel a vibration .

That sounds like a heat shields are loose to me. I'd check the welds on them.
Or maybe try feeding a piece of wood underneath....If it comes out in two pieces, then it's definately a band saw...lol ;) :p |
i found out what it was. it was the heat shield rubbing againest the driveshaft.
i fixed it by giving alittle of prybar persausion. :D thanks for all the help |
