Came across an Echidna on the side of the road, but it was too scared to say hello

This is the television transmission tower, has a 360deg view of the valley & ocean.
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm47db.jpg
All of a sudden the weather got very dark!
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm5ecc.jpg
looked back at the other tower, and realised that this might be a big storm, plenty of thunder & lightning at this point too!

the rain was just about to hit us & i could not get any pictures of the ocean in time
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm717a.jpg
very dark clouds
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm8f06.jpg
the 1st hail that landed, and this is when i realised i was in a bit of trouble
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm9e07.jpg
the ground started getting white from this hail, some of which were around 1inch in size
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm10dc2.jpg
at this point i had to drive! there was not one bit of tree to get under for about 5km! but in that time the hail stopped, and im sure there was damage!

dark clouds from the storm
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm11b2e0.jpg
Just like a winter wonderland, only it was 25 degrees 10min beforehand!
http://i2.cashmoneyuploads.com/img/storm12fd6.jpg
got home, and i was afraid to look at the car, for i allready knew what happened! the roof, boot, bonnet, and drivers side of the car had about 150 little dints from the hail some were considerable, some werent

Damn man... That's terrible.... Beautiful pics :) It is great to see an SVX in Australia :).... I would love one when I move back there....

Welcome to the hail dent club my friend. My car's hood and roof are peppered with small hail pucks, they are barely dents.

Funny thing is since the car must have been waxed and polished so much, including me doing it once, you can't really feel the dents. But you can see the spiral reflection.

I will take it to a body shop some day to check out the estimate.

Did your trunk (boot) lid get dented? When my car got hit with hail, the roof, hood, fenders, etc. were all dented but strangely the trunk lid wasn't at all.

I really like those 3 tone SVX's. I hope you get it all fixed.

the boot didn't have anything wrong, heh, strangely enough, maybe because i was driving through it maybe?
and yes, i can see the spiral marks where all the dents are, heh
at least insurance covers me, thank god, a new rear indicator set sure would cost a couple $$$

Beautiful pictures, terrible story.

Ouch!

:(

I know how you must be feeling - I almost had this happen to my SVX a year ago!

I was out on the road in early September 2004 - when a terrible hailstorm hit the northern suburbs of Sydney.

I heard the dreaded sharp tapping noise on my windscreen - and I knew what was about to happen!

Luckily, I was able to get my SVX undercover within 20 seconds!

I then watched as the hail fell, and took some photos...........

The top of the trunklid is made of fiberglass (or atleast something similar to fiberglass)

Beat me to it. Yeah trunk lid isn't metal. Thats why its so heavy.

Yes - that Toyota had to park on the curb - that was the only way that it could get undercover!
