Bad news. My SVX got totaled Last night. I almost felt like crying because all the money I put into it. Only good thing is it wasn't my fault. I broadsided this guy who was trying to make a left turn and beat a yellow light. He was rolling on the ground like he was hurt, but the paramedics said he was faking it. and he didn't speak english so we didn't get any info from him, but his wife showed up and said they had insurance. I just need to get a copy of the police report to get his info and file a clam. Im suprised I didn't get a ticket because my license is revoked. Hopefully I wont be walking to long. It would suck paying a high car note and not having a car.

Whoa!!!

Damn are you serious?? Wow I can believe it! I am really sorry, I can not imagine being without my SVX. Hopefully you will be able to at least get the insurance company to pay it off for you if it is totalled. If it is not totalled then his insurance should pay for it to get fixed. I am really sorry, good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

i know what you're going through. i bought mine in May of 99. two weeks after, a mustang ran a stop sign and smashed the ENTIRE right side. first thing i did was jumped out and ran right on him cause i wanted to beat his ass! he paid for it though. almost $5000 in damages. Subaru did a real ****ty job fixing it. i took it back 3 times. then, in November of 2000 i hit a deer. whole left side was smashed this time. lost the side view and everything. now the transmission is dead! real bad luck with this car, but i'm not giving up on it. anyway, sorry for your loss. you'll love it even more when you get it back.

You can always get another car. Glad you're not hurt. Huh, driving with no license. Not cool.

I wouldn't be driving If I didn't have to. I got to school and work and have a kid so its almost impossible for me to catch a bus around.

Sorry to hear it "R," but, like Joe said, you can always replace a car. Even one as special as an SVX. Glad to know you're okay.

I know how you feel, RRX

My first SVX I bought from Florida, had it transported all the way up here to Wisconsin, and a month later, I hit a deer on the freeway and totalled it. Talk about devistating, I wasn't the same person for a few months. Well at least my insurance paid it off and I was able to pick up an almost identical SVX. -Greg

Wow, that really too bad. Glad you weren't hurt. So will anything be salvageable if you got another SVX?

Finally...after 2 months

Finally this issue has been resolved after almost two months. Ater I got a
hold of the police report, I notice the guy was cited for taking row on a
left turn and for not having any proof of insurance. So I try to call them
to see if he had insurance or not. I could never get a hold of the guy to
get his insurance info. Some lady always gave me excuses about how they
would call me back and they never did. She swore up and down they had
insurance though. Because I have liability insurance, I needed him to get
my car appraised.

Finally after a month of waiting I showed up on his court day which was
may 1st and he didn't show. He got and attorney to fax in his info and he
set up a pretrial for may 16th. So I had to wait longer, while my svx
rotted in my mom's driveway. On may 16th I just went to his pretrial and
spoke directly with the Aurora attorney to get his insurance company info.
I'm not sure why he got an attorney just to show the court that he had proof
of insurance? Anyways, after I contact his insurance and made a statement,
they needed to talk to him in order to issue me a check because they
declared it a total loss. I informed them that he wouldn't cooperate for
over a month and doubt if he calls them back. Guess what, he never called
his insurance agent back to make a statement so they just went off of the
police report.

They are going to give me 9,546 for the car. I owe 8,200 on it.
Basically, I'm losing out on some money because of the aftermarket stuff i bought for the car. I'll be selling some stuff on e-bay shortly.

Plus they added another year to my license suspention. I cant get my
license back to Dec 15,2002!!!!

HUH?!?

I must have missed the thread here. You're saying that you were driving with no license, and you broadsided the guy, and you're peeved because you only get about 1400 bucks over what you owe on the car? Is that right? You said you had liabilty insurance, but you didn't mention full coverage, which any bank insists on when they loan money for a car, did you have full coverage? Didn't you say that you won't get your license back until 2002 now? When were you going to get it back prior to your wreck?

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your SVX, but tell me where you live so I can avoid it. You must have done something(S) very toopid to lose a license...heck, I've seen people with a couple of DUI's still driving with at least a temp license to get to and from work.

WOW, it's an amazing country we live in isn't it? Driving isn't a right young man, its a privilege. Which reminds me, I have to go and talk to my new neighbor about his car stereo today...he must be deaf by now so I might have to shout.

PArts??

What type of parts / Pieces are you going to be selling??

Seraph 05-29-2001 07:33 PM

It's been 2 months since the accident. Are you still selling parts? I am interested in some. Let me know!

Thanks
