Who manage the SVX pics on wikipedia?

Just noticed that the first pic on wiki page is now different than I remembered... Maybe old news, but I'm just wondering why this SVX with the damaged bumper is the 1st pic I see on the page....
I liked svxcess's mint green one before.:)

I usually try to keep the photographs stable on Wikipedia.

When my photo was replaced by the one currently there, I reverted it to my own.

I received a justification for the change from one of the administrators of Wikipedia and had a discussion with him.

My position:
The photograph should be one that represents the marque at its best. Stock and as pristine as possible.

Their justification
This is a better picture, larger, less reflections, better angle. If you really think your image is better discuss on the talk page, but several people disagree.

Evidently the blemishes and damage are not as important as the clarity of what is represented I disagree, but changing it back and having it undone is not worth the hassle.

The only way to win is take their identical shot, same size and angle, of my car instead of theirs. Here is their shot and my original (flipped) for comparison. I do see their point, but this is splitting hairs. The damage to the front bumper focuses the attention to it and not the car as a whole.

Your car is infinately more beautiful and the background is also far more picturesque.

P.S. Yours has more reflections because thats what gleaming shining paint does.

That blows. Svxcess's pic is way better to everybody's eyes!
I understand that the Wiki is not a fancy ad or anything but I know there are tons of people all over the world checking this page. And seeing the damaged goods on the 1st page is just discouraging to learn more about the SVX....
Maybe it's just me.
If they had to replace I just wished the new pic was equally good as svxcess's pic or better one. Then I'd be quiet...

I bet lot of us here has better picture that deserve to be the 1st pic on that page.:)

I remember the old pic was even horrible... light purple customized SVX. That was killing me...

Once the weather gets a little warmer, I will duplicate their shot as best I can (size, lighting, angles, etc.)

There is something odd about their photo. The car looks shorter and taller, not low and sleek. Different lenses I guess.

If I give them less reflections and more detail, they shouldn't complain.

Looking forward to your new photos SVXCESS.

Yes that's different lens. Their photo is slightly telephoto-ish. Makes the overhangs look bit longer. Maybe that's why the wheelbase feels shorter. You see more roof surface too, and that make it look bit taller. It's all about perspective. Whoever took that pic was standing far from the car, and zoomed in.

I realized photo-shooting with SVX was not that easy...

Seems like the Wiki administrators rethought their position on the main photo.

As of March 11, they have put my original photo back in and all is well. :)

Shooting with a wide angle (shorter focal length) closer up will distort the closer part of the subject. Stepping back and zooming in is the way to go to minimize lens distoration.

speaking of pics, just saw this today:

Clearly not intended to take away the focus of the tragedy unfolding in Japan, but I did think it was sadly interesting. I hope the owner was away on a trip overseas, and is safe and sound.

The best way to get around all of the reflections is to use flat black on it before the photo shoot. :o :o

Aside from the sad tragedy in Japan and speaking of dead SVXi there, I heard that the Subaru museum was in the northern part of the country, close to where the quakes hit. Can anybody confirm the status of the museum?
I think it holds the molds and SVXi prototypes...
