car dies when you clutch in

92 svx and whenever im driving around i go to clutch in and the car just dies, and then starts right back up, i cleaned out the maf sensor thinking that might be the problem but it still does it and also the speedo doesnt work and it idles at about 900 rpms which seems very high, do these have idle air control? or maybe a throttle sensor that could be bad

This is a fairly well known problem. Do a search for "5MT stall". The cause of it (I believe) is that when you release the gas the ECU alters the engine timing to get more engine braking. While this is happening in an automatic it's actually the car's momentum that's keeping the engine turning over. So with a 5MT once you clutch in there's no weight keeping the engine spinning and it can stall.

Nothing wrong with the car, and I believe ECUTune may have a software fix for it.
