Chevrolet Corvette 789

If you have a C-6 Corvette and you are tired of seeing yourself coming and going on the highway, consider the 789.

Utilizing the best design features of the 57, 58, and 59 Chevrolets (hence the name 789) This manufacturer makes custom carbon fiber bodies for these cars. base conversion is $75,000 plus the cost of the Corvette

The “789” has the “hooded eyes” and chrome grille of a ’57, a mid-section that’s reminiscent of a ’58 Impala and the “bird in flight” rear tailfins of a ’59.

Definitely. The 2007 is a C-6. They came out in 2005.

Under all that body cladding, it's still a C6 Vette...

Which makes it super-fast, great handling, reliable and easy to maintain. For someone who wants to stand out without having to pay $300,000 for an overpriced, underequipped, tempermental exotic that forces you to re-mortgage the house once a year to fix it's breakdowns, this is a great solution. Personally, i think it's ugly. But that's subjective.

Far out, man.

I think that your comments are very true as far as the reliability and speed factors are concerned. Parts of the car may even retain chevy warranties. Not bad for a totally unique hot rod that will hang with the Porsches and Ferraris.

Having spent hours driving my friend's 50th Commemorative, I can tell you its a gas to drive. My friend's 50th has to be seen to be appreciated. The pictures don't quite do it justice.

Just my 2 cents.

cheers

Ken

That is frickin cool and the architecture popping out of the ground is immense.

both of those Vettes are butt-ugly. the current Corvette wouldn't be bad looking if somebody just fixed the ass-end of it.

The company that makes the 789 is n2A (stands for no 2 alike). The asking price for a 789 starts at $135,000. Only 100 are planned. If I invest the money, I'll figure to recoup a quarter mil at Barret-Jackson in 5 years.

Not a great investment but think of the fun for 5 years.

The 789 looks like something assembled by a brilliant craftsman from junkyard parts. The two-tone paint enhances that effect.

It's got to be the ugliest thing on 4 wheels.

The 'Vette, on the other hand, looks pretty cool. I think it's the rocket-engine tail lights that impart the Jetsons look.

The whole retro thing is getting tired, really. If I wanted something that looked like a '57 Chevy, '68 Mustang or whatever, I'd much rather have a nice example of the genuine article.
