Are these the same color???
 

the previous owner of my car closed a wrench in the hood so ive been looking to get a new one. Are these the same color? my car and hood im looking at

Both the 1993 and the 1994 SVx were "Barcelona Red". From 1995 on it was changed to "Brilliant Red.

Since your car is a 1994, and the ebay ad lists the hood as coming from a 1993, you should be okay. but...

Some of the Barcelona Red cars were subject to paint fading, especially the mirrors and the rear quarter garnish. If the hood was painted the original color, it may not match exactly.

Did you see he also had another hood for sale on ebay? He said it was original, no scratches and from a 1994.

He lives about 115 miles from you. I would drive up and look at the hood and compare the colors. You could even swap hoods while up there and save $130.00 on shipping.

that one hood looks almost maroon or purpleish more than it does the red on my car:confused:

Upon closer inspection, the darker (1994) hood with original paint is probably a faded Bordeaux Pearl (The first year for this color.)

I would still make the drive to see it in person. It it's a close enough match, change it there and save $130.00 and dump the hood.

If you don't want to change it, or you want to keep the old hood, An SVX hood will fit inside the car; many members have done it. Svxfiles has bought a fiberglass hood to the Reading meet.
