i think i broke my steering column

so normally i have the steering column up and alll the way out (using that telescopic switch). Now the thing is just limp and won't stay locked in place (it falls all the way to the lowest position, sitting right on my friggin knees!) ?!? Granted its late, but am i missing something? Or are these things prone to breaking?

have you used the switch all the way under the steering column to reset? (some people don't realize there's a 3rd switch)

Good call Aly. The lever that holds the steering wheel in place may have just released. Check that lever and set it again. I have not heard of any steering columns breaking, so I think that is what is wrong.

PS I moved this to Tech section. :)

yeah i fixed it. IT was that 3rd switch you guys were talking about. Thanks for the heads up. For future reference: Friends don't get drunk and let other friends drive their SVX.

They do if the owner has had too much to drink. Better that than the other choices that might come up. Glad we could help. :)
