bad tranny need help!!!!

Something it up with my clutch. The car wouldn’t go into 4th gear.2nd and 3rd gear just keeps slipping. My rpms just keep hitting red line and I’m not going anywhere. Anyone knows what’s going on. I’ll try to post up a clip

Sounds similar when my high clutch went out it would rev to redline when going from 3rd to 4th.

Yup, same thing happened to mine. Many others as well. It is what usually fails first on these transmissions.

2nd gear is probably still ok. Keep the shifter there if you need to keep driving it to avoid unnecessary slipping. Only use 3rd if you're not accelerating.

The 1st gear is one. 2nd is so so. 3th is done. 4th i just can't get the can to there. I'm maxxing out at 80 mph. What so i do?? just buy the 5 speed swap or what>?

Well the high clutch really has nothing to do with 2nd gear. I believe the band brake does though. Possibly multiple failures within the transmission.

As for what to do depends on your budget & time. Putting in another auto will be quicker & cheaper but not my personal preference. The decision is yours.

I sell a very good transmission that will last longer than your car and shifts lightning fast. svxfiles just installed one in Jonathan Winaker's car (Jnthn_Sctt) so you can ask either of them about it. Normand, Nomad on here, also has one. Another network member in Colorado has one but I'm having a mental lapse on his network name.

YourConfused also got one and said it didn't work right but he refused to send it back or even work with me on the phone to figure out what was going on. There was also a guy who smashed his front pump while installing it with the torque converter on wrong. I assume he replaced his pump and was happy but I haven't heard from him.

SVX transmissions rebuilt with better friction materials, more clutches, higher apply pressures, faster shifts, the special order from Japan parts you only get in rebuilds from me or Subaru, NOK Japan seals and some upgraded seals from Germany. It comes to you or preferably the shop where you are getting it installed in a hardwood crate complete with a new torque converter and no core is required. They are $3400 plus 250 flat rate shipping in the lower 48. http://www.ecutune.com/4eat.htm
