dealer lost, code 32 and 37

I posted earlier about our '92 SVX (166k). They are getting a 32 and 37 code, which if i look on www.svx-iw.com says is the left hand and right hand O2 sensors, but the dealer says a code 32 is a rear sensor (which the car does not have). Should i just go get the car and do both 02 sensors myself? please help i am getting suspicious of this dealer after they charged me 14.50 for shop supplies to change the transmission mount and 1 hour of diagnostic time. What shop supplies are used to change a tranny mount?

I would tell them to go ahead and change the rear sensor, then threaten to sue them for false charges, settle out of court for a new STi :D

Maybe the dealer keyed in WRX instead of SVX. Rear O2 sensors are a recent addition to the plethera of electronic gizmos. My '03 Forester has one. I would suggest he look under the car and try again!!

Subaru has been using rear O2 sensors since at least 1995. The problem is that he's reading the info wrong. In a "normal" Subaru you would have a front and rear sensor. On an OBDII SVX you'd have two fronts and one rear. On your SVX (pre-OBDII) you have two fronts and no rear. At any rate, your car needs both O2 sensors replaced. This is probably causing the rough idle that you mentioned in another post.

You mentioned in another post that the rough idle occured after the tranny replacement. Is it possible that one of the O2 sensors was not reconnected after the surgery?

I bet they're both unplugged.

i vote change the sensors yourself (unless they're just unplugged). the dealer is obviously "confused" about what he's doing on the car.take a good look at the wires and connectors for both o2 sensors... if they're plugged in, they could be damaged and touching something, plugged in incorrectly, etc..
