A (almost) free tranny cooler?
When I asked the tranny guy to install my cooler, we had some words and he said something to the effect of using the A/C condenser since that's all that's left of my A/C system.
Should I have not got the cooler, or do I not want to use the condenser? Should I have put this in T Q+A? :D |
Yes, and I will move it for you.
I don't think I would use the AC cooler. I would use a transmission cooler because it is designed for that. Maybe someone else will dissagree with me, but I would not do it. The money difference is not worth the chance. :) |
I'm with Earl on this one. Among other concerns, the AC condenser is pretty big and would add considerable volume to the system. I also don't think it was designed to flow something as viscous as ATF.

Also I'm not sure hou the fluid would take to the type of metal used in the A/C condenser. It might break down the fluid or vice versa.

Hmm all very good points. I'll just use the cooler then.
