Denver, Colorado Meet
 

Seeing if there was enough interest in having a "get together" meet in the next few months (July-Sept) in the Denver Area. Anyone?

I will watch with interest. That may be a good road trip! :D

could I use it to drum up support for the RENO meet in 04??

Aug 23 works for me.
Mt Evans is a good idea. After a trip to the top of Mt Evans, we could continue on the Hwy 103 loop to Idaho Springs for food and brews.
You are talking about my neighborhood here.... I live off 103 between Evergreen and Idaho Springs

BTW: Last time I went to the top of Mt Evans, I had some tourists with me from Texas. They had packed a lunch for the days sightseeing trip. As we climbed up the Mt Evans road, atmospheric pressure decreased to the point a huge bag of potato chips swelled (sp) up to the point it ruptured with a loud bang, sending potato chips flying all over the car.
Made a big mess of the Legacy! :D

we could also stop in at the lodge at Echo Lake for a bit

Well.. if one of them goes out this time, at least I'll get back sooner than 11:00am the next day. :D

I have NO idea if I could make it or not. I'm starting a new job soon, and don't know if I can choose my days off :( (And if my cars still running)

If anyone desires a hotel room for this meet, please PM me (especially those who dare join us from the East!). I am a hotel Manager in the Tech Center (DTC)/ Englewood area. I will give those you are coming to this event an employee rate if you happen to be coming from out of town. (Mt. Evans is an about 70 minutes from Englewood).

So, what is the official date and destination for this meet? Is it still tentatively-sp? Mt. Evans around Aug 23rd?

That works for me, I was just wondering if that was still the current plan.

Hopefully, I can get that new radiator that's on ebay right now and get the 92 going.....then I can bring both my SVXi. :D

For sure on Saturday Aug. 23rd. Time and meeting location still will be determined. I would think that we should be up at the top of Mt. Evans no later than 1:00 p.m. (to avoid stormy weather!) Assuming that all goes well, we will have definite plans in the next week or so. I will keep them posted on this thread. We are always open for ideas too!

Don't forget the Cheetos! :)

I may be up for it. The car will have the Tubo by that time. and i would love to show it off to some SVxers

OK, Here's a preliminary plan (although we have not yet decided on a definite meeting time on Saturday morning, ideally we will meet at 9:00 a.m.):

We will plan on meeting in the Walmart Parking lot at the Evergreen exit 252 off of I-70 on Saturday morning.

We will plan on taking HWY 103 West through Bergen Park up to Echo Lake (Approx. 45 minutes).

At Echo Lake we will continue to the top of Mt. Evans. Appears to be a $10 entrance fee (see this link: http://www.mtevans.com/ME-PlanningAccessFees.HTML )

After loosing our breaths!:eek:, we will continue to head West on HWY 103 to Idaho Springs.

We were thinking about ending up at Ten Day Jacks which is a beer and wine pub. ;) in Idaho Springs. (exact address will be posted shortly). (All adults and children are welcome!). We will plan on getting pizza from Beau Jo's and eating at Ten Day Jacks.

I will host maps in my locker as soon as a definite plans are made!

If anyone is interested in getting a hotel room either Friday or Saturday night please let me know!
