Intermittent Rear Wiper

Over the last couple of weeks, my rear wiper has only worked intermittently.

Last night as I was heading home from work I tried to use it and I saw a slight movement but nothing more. One more try, a little less movement. It's trying to work. I got out of the car to see if I could 'free it up'.

Well, I'm happy to say it's fixed!!! At least until the next time I open the trunk and it gets caught under the edge of the trunk lid . . . :o

To really fix it I need to adjust it's parked position. Is it mounted on a splined shaft or do I just need to loosen a nut, adjust and retighten?

It is splined. Good luck.

That's interesting. I know the front wipers on my car are not splined. You'd think that since they're the ones people use more often that they would be splined...

my rear wipers were loose a few months ago, it ended up wiping the boot lid, i must say, it was rather clean, ina semi cricle kinda shape, jsut tightened the nut and it was fine again :)
