Who is your favorite comedy team or comedian?

My favorite comedians have always been Laurel and Hardy. I consider there over 100 films to be times less classics. And I have quite a collection of there films with my most recent purchase being Below Zero and Night Owls [in color] from 1929 which was one of the first talkies that also starred Edgar Kennedy as the cop in hot water with his chief. I am also very pleased that some of there movies are being re-released using a very tastefully done digital color process. With the end result appearing as if the film was originally shot in color.

With a genre as wide spread as comedy, you need to give quite a few more choices in your poll...and preferably some from the last decade.

I myself was always a Mitch Hedberg fan...too bad I'll never get to see him :(

Robin Williams for the win!..... Gallager and George Carlin are close runners though. Oh and Chris Rock deffinitly one of the better ones. :D

George Carlin
Andrew Dice Clay
Sam Kinnison
Lewis Black
Chris Rock

Agreed that best comedy team is L&H. Anybody who likes Abbott&Costello over Laurel&Hardy needs a good beating. I will administer it myself in 3 Stooges style. :D

Poll looks like it should be for comedy team and not include stand alone comedians. Bill Hicks and Mitch Hedberg. Two great comedians who left us too early.

I provided the "other" option to give everyone a chance to express there favorites. Let the members speak for themselves in other words. And as far as modern comedy George Carlin and Steve Martin are the only living comedians I find even remotely funny. Remember the old saying. "You Can't Teach an Old Hippie New Comedy.:D

dave chapelle, mitch hedberg, chris rock. those are my three favorites in order. no one can touch chapelle.

Timeless standup - Bob Newhart
Gut-busting standup - the late Dennis Wolfberg.

I can't believe I forgot The Smothers Brothers. I love them. Who are so cool they used to hang out with John Lennon. And Tommy along with about thirty other people in a make shift recording studio in the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal helped to sing the back ground lyrics on Lennon's Give Peace a Chance.

Dane Cook is hilarious too. His new CD set just came out two weeks ago.
