can overfilling tranny cause problems?
hi quick question. pls reply if u know the answer otherwise dont :)
if i have overfilled tranny can it cause any harm? and why or why not :) as i think my tranny was overfilled for more then a year (when tranny was repaired)... still goes but weird things happen. cheers |
you really shouldnt do that. you might find that your dipstick pops up every once in a while. its possible to blow seals and cause leakage (so ive heard, and witnessed).
make sure you are on flat ground when checking the levels. |
Overfilled is bad. It causes the fluid to foam up which hurts cooling.

hmmm ok
im talking about tranny not engine anyays how can i take some of fluid out? thats kinda hard considering i dont have any special tools |
I drained some tranny fluid once by taking some airline tubing used for fish tank pumps and siphoning it though the dipstick tube. Just don't swallow:)

You can drain some by opening the drain a few turns then tightening back up. Usually it'll work without leaking
