How much to pay for a near Perfect '94
Just saw a black '94 LSI at the dealer being serviced. Driven by a "little old lady". Service manager told me the car is serviced regularly and hardly driven. Car has 23,700 miles and just had 30,000 maintenance service! It looks brand new. Has the large LSX lettering on rear quarter panels. I want it so badly....
Not sure if she wants to sell, but I told service manager to offer her $5K for it. What's the most you would pay? |
Don't be surprised if you have to go to 7 or 8k for it.

I would prefer a 94 LSi to a 92 LSL for the same mileage. :D
Good luck, :p if she doesn't want to sell it, you can't force her. Just wait........I wonder how old is the lady now? :p |
sssvx, that's so bad!!! haha but i was thinking the same thing!!!

The old lady can drive or own the beautiful SVX as loooong as she wants...:D |
You have to hope she's willing to sell the car - or you could marry her and inherit it when it has 46,000 miles perhaps :D
|
Well, if she doesn't want to sell ...... I'll just have to wait for her .....she come around sooner or later ;-)

"$5,000 for my baby...you can go home!":p
Yeah, perhaps a $5000 can buy a good condition 92 LSL with 100K..... :D |
Maybe the car isn't for sale. Let me suggest a different approach. Perhaps you should contact the owner, saying you saw her car in the shop and you were impressed by its condition. Let her know that you are also an SVX fan and that, IF she ever decides to sell it you would appreciate being given first chance to buy it from her. Don't push. A decision to sell is HER choice, no matter how much YOU want the car. Best wishes.

That's not always true... Everything has a price... Everything. Keeping it to SVXes, I have no intention to sell my car, however if someone walked up to me and said, I'll pay you $7k for your car right now... I'd take it. Without a doubt. I'd take all my stereo ish out of it, buy a 92 SVX, or a cheaper car and be perfectly happy selling my 96 with 100k miles on it. Now, whether he wants to make the offer that will make her want to sell, that's a different question. |
Value?
I paid $7900K for a 54K mile (which it still has) 97 LSi in Jan 2005 and considered it a steal. The 94 LSi with fewer miles should be worth about the same thing. Actually I would have to do some research to see how man 94 LSi were made to do further comparison. Anyway--I agree that the $8000 should be about the correct price IF is in the market to sell. If she is not really interested in selling it will probably take considerably more than that to pique her interest.
I agree with the approach of just passing the word that IF she ever decides to sell to let you have first shot at it. Lee |

Hey, I paid $5,400 3 yrs ago for a very clean '92 with 63,000 miles on it and 12 months left on a rebuilt tranny. I'm willing to pay more. NADA and Edmund's range from $4,000 to $7,200 for outstanding condition. I'm willing to pay more. I just don't want my heart to get in the way of good judgement.
I'm not that familiar with the 94's, but, it would be nice not to have to deal with that seat belt trying to choke me every now and then. ... and that blackie would look sooo cool next to the black top pearlie! I was thinking about going as high as $8,000. It's fini! she's not ready to sell. She's got my number. ... I'll be waiting for her call.....:( |
