Horrible Bright Green 97 LSi

Hi friends, Newbie here but I'm looking to buy. There is a horrible bright green LSi repaint at Scarborough Subaru. Has 224,000 Km on the clock and a brand new rad. Anyone know the history of this car? It was originally Ebony Pearl. Currently in Auto Trader. Carfax does not indicate any accidents or other problems, been there since December, prices down to $4,888 from $7,995. What do you think? Take a chance? Any input would be welcomed.

At current exchange rates, maybe $7500 down to $4500. Very expensive for a car with that sort of mileage unless there are good mods done to it and perfect maintenance records (With proof).

i meant that as to the car at scarboro subaru - not svx's in general

Yeah sound like it is very pricey for a SVX with that mileage AND with a paint color that you do not like. Keep your eyes open, and check this site frequently I am sure you can find a better one.

By the way it could be the car mentioned in this post, but I can't tell because the link to the ebay listing is no longer active.

that car isn't lime green, i have looked at it before..it's the polo green colour. but as i mentioned before...dont bother with that piece of monkey ****. even the dealership doesn't want anything to do with it ~

Thank you friends, glad I sought your input since I was half-heartedly considering it. You are correct about the dealership wanting to get it off their lot, they asked me to make an offer, any offer! I understand that there is a member of this group in Aurora, perhaps if you read this you could contact me please, I live in Ballantrae and would like to learn more about the SVX first hand. Thanks. offbeatlen@sympatico.ca

there is also a member from newmarket - he doesn't come on anymore because.......well...he's worried that he'll get hooked and go buy another svx.

you should have told them to give you money to take it if they wanted it gone that badly.

you're not that far away. i could drive out to meet you if you want. though im not an svx owner anymore

i think there still is a guy selling twin 92 green SVXs, 1 has a 6spd swap done to it the other he says is more of a parts car even though it has a working tranny and engine, he wanted 4000 for both cars.

Re: Horrible Bright Green 97 LSi

Yep, you are correct, but some of the things I liked about the car is that it came rwd and auto. I've done my time with clutching many years ago. There is also a fellow in Mississauga with a red one as well as one in the West Country (well west of here anyway) all of them in Kijiji or Autotrader. Unfortunately they are all high mileage so maybe I'll just stick with my G35, at least it is rwd and very comfy!

Thanks to all for the advice and leads, I'll shall continue to monitor the Canadian Forums and you never know, maybe a low mileage '95 or '97 will show up someday.
