O2 sensor
 
hi again

any ideas how to check the O2 sensor? and can they get dirty or something? and mite need some cleaning?


i was getting check engine code some time ago but its gone now
still terrible iddle (progressive) and bad as acceleration under 3000rpms

grrrr :(

I believe it requires an Oscope or similar test equipment. Long term observation of an air/fuel gauge can show a degrading sensor (speed of response on the needle). Basically, once warm, most if not all, read out between 0 and 1 volt. There's nothing to clean, its a pull and replace job. Search for how if you decide to DIY.

are the readings from left and right O2 sensors are nearly the same?
if engine works ok then they are supposed to be the same.. right?

if the two engine banks are perfectly matched, then yes - to the precision of the sensor itself. But if one cylinder is misfiring then no.

hmmm if i get too desperate ill connect the output from left O2 to the right O2

to c how the car would work.....

coz there is something really wrong with petrol system!
