OE parts discount?

I usually use Jamie aka SubieGal (subarugenuineparts.com) on NASIOC to get all my Subaru bits. Now I guess they dont offer a discount anymore and go strictly by the OE catalog price. Does anyone know where I can get discounted OE parts?

Yeah I just canceled part of my order with her as they now want almost 3 bucks per seal for tiny bolt seals.

Try Jackie at Annapolis Subaru:

jackie.whetzler@annapolissubaru.com

You will have better luck calling: (866) 509-3019

She gives forum members a discount.

Re: OE parts discount?

Always compare prices at www.subaruparts.com and www.1stsubaruparts.com

You have to compare their shipping costs also, as they are different.

Re: OE parts discount?

If you're registered at Subaruparts.com you'll receive periodic e-mailed discount codes (which someone usually posts here). Of course this is of no use for something you need right away, but for a parts wish list, the price break is worth the wait.

That said, I don't recall them having such a sale since before Christmas...

Re: OE parts discount?

Liberty Subaru in Ordell, NJ has always beaten 1st and subaruparts.com for me when you take shipping into account but of course they're east coast as am I. I'd start with Jackie first as she actually cares about the cars.

+1 Jackie is my only source for OEM parts...

Even with Liberty being closer, Jackie gets the order right more often than not and gets it out the door when I need it

If you are talking about the valve cover bolt seals part # 13271AA051, they do cost pretty close to $3 each. Subaruparts.com wants $2.57 and 1stSubaruparts.com wants $2.50. The full price is something between $3.37 and $3.50.

They ain't cheap.

If I were you, just get the full reseal kit. It'll seal up everything nice and tight. If you don't feel like pulling the motor to do the HG or rear main, then just find someone to sell those gaskets and whatever else you have left that you didn't feel like doing. Will be a much better deal. :)

Re: OE parts discount?

Thanks for the info guys. I sent Jackie an email. Hopefully she will treat me better than Jamie (as of late). A shame really since over the last 5 yrs I have spent a good bit of money with her.

I actually thought of the full reseal kit. Make sense and I am sure those 18yr old stock HG wont last forever. I really really don't like to crack a factory seal unless its required.

I do plan on swapping in a 5MT at some point along with yanking the entire drivetrain to clean and reseal. Note the key word "plan". I guess after being a mechanic for so long I am just burnt out. I don't mind a bit of tinkering but I just cant be bothered anymore! LOL

As I have said before I mostly use Subaruparts.com or 1stSubaruParts.com, but I have just completed my first transaction with Jackie at Annapolis Subaru and am happy as can beee!!! Great service and great prices.

Comparison--ordered 6 exhaust gaskets. Total parts price was $81.70 compared to $80.94 from Subaruparts.com-----BUT SHIPPING---Jackie shipping $5.00 and Subaruparts.com is $9.95. So totals were $86.70 from Jackie and $90.89 from Subaruparts.com.

The really good part---I PLACED THIS ORDER ON MONDAY, 3/22 AND RECEIVED THE ORDER ON THURSDAY, 3/25!!!!!!!!!! Can't beat that. Shipping was from Maryland to small town New Mexico.

The main reason I ordered from Jackie: I was looking for an exhaust gasket for my 97. The illustration on Subaruparts.com shows the flat gasket needed for the front of the main cat, but when you order the part number reflected, it comes in as the donut type gasket needed for the REAR of the main cat. I could not find the part number. Jackie--got it right first time without breaking a sweat. ;)

I know where I will go in the future. I think the best way to order parts there is to first send an email message indicating what you want and then follow up with a phone call.

Just my two cents----again.

Lee
