Remember Picklesb1tch
Hey Guys!
Some of you 'old-timers' should remember 'Picklesb1tch' (I've re-spelled it to get it past the censors) Mike couldn't make our SVX mini-meet in Duluth, MN about 4 years ago because he was closing on a new house (new- for him) in West St. Paul. We started chatting and comparing notes and 'long story/short' is- he bought my grandparents house!! Way Freaky!! We had chatted a couple of times since on the phone and I missed him several times when I stopped at his 'new' house when I was in the neighborhood. My wife and I were nearby the other night and I finally 'caught' him at home. I met his wife and had a nice chat and a tour of the old homestead. Kind of weird to be back in a house with so many memories after about 35 years. He's only the third owner and it's in surprisingly good shape. Unfortunately, Mike had to make some concessions with his new house, wife, job, etc. a couple of years ago and ended up donating his pearlie SVX to a local trade school. Mike looked upon my '94 with a little longing in his eyes. Good times! -Regards, -Mark |
I remember Mike. I hated to see him go out on such a sour note. I realize, however, how frustrations can run high, at times.
Next time you see him, tell him I said hi. Maybe, if I ever get up that way again, to pick up my daughter, we can all hook up. Unfortunately, hauling college goods and four people in an SVX is not the ideal situation. I'll likely be in another vehicle. :D |
There wasn't a bad vibe detected at all.... just nice to finally have a face to match with a name - and 'attitude'? Mike did like to stir the pot- as do I on occasion....

pickles
I remember pickles and Eddycat.. HEHEHE
AKA mike.. Mike was nice and always a FUN read.. NOt to mention a Very fine meachanic. His advice is missed. I'm sorry to hear though about the parting of the SVX. from what I know. Seperating the 2 would be like removing an arm. As for the stiring of the pot.. Get to know a few Suby meachanics.. you'll fully understand the humor it's whacky, but FUN. svx1999 |

after a move to Montana from I-dee-ho.
No doubt in a little secluded cabin somewhere up in the
mountains...writing a Subaru manifesto. With his cat. Tim |

And his cat too.
LOL! In his tattered old bathrobe and slippers. Drink in hand.
Horns on the SVX hood...filthy, dirty; but runs like a top! Still practicing the full gas-full brake driving technique, as instructed by "Blondeman"! |

Here's a trivia question for you: What was eddycat's likker of choice? :D Blondeman, of course was only using full gas/full break because he used the "heel/toe" method, just like the drivers at Le Mans. :D:D:D |

My favorite memory of Maria (aside from thinking what the look on her face was, when Alanscouse handed her a 20.00 bill -- long story :D) was when we were sitting at the table in TGI Fridays and she says to me, "You sound just like your posts." :D Gosh, Reading I has to go way up near the top of my favorite life experiences. :D:D:D |
