console removal

Does anyone know how to remove the center console. Do I have to remove the whole dash? If so how do I do this?

Nope, but you have to remove the two front side trim next to the stereo and the two screws it covers, a few screws in the front where it meets the dash (make sure to check under the ashtray), 2 or 4 screws in the center storage compartment, and a couple of screws under the rear ashtray. It's been quite awhile since I had mine apart so I may have missed a screw or two, but they are easily found. Oh and make sure to remove the trim piece around the shifter so the console will clear when you remove it.

There is a how to somewhere. I don't remember where though.

Yes indeed there is. It's mine :)

Actually it's for changing the shift indicator light but you have to remove the console to get to it:

Err...not really unless you have really big hands. If you just pop the trim off, you can reach under the shift indicator and unscrew the base.
