AAH! Help! OBD-II 5 speed swap wont start!!!

OK here is the deal. I bought and swapped in a 5 speed transmission from a 1997 impreza L. Every thing has gone great so far...... except now that I am 99 percent done and it is time for me to start her up, nothing... I've fallowed huck369's write up and have been communicating with him through out this project. I can't get it to start up after putting the transmission in. Now I have come to a realization about this car. I have the 1996 Lsi that has the OBD-II management system and hucks is a OBD-I from what I remember... I checked battery and it seems alright and starts other vehicles. There are three small clicks after the pump turns on for a second and then nothing. My air bag light is always on and nothing else. I got all the dash lights to turn on a few times like they are suppose to when the key is in the on position and not running. I'm not sure if this matters or not though. Is there any one who might know if I have to do some other wiring instead because I am OBD-II. If not is there any one else who knows what I have to wire up etc that can send me some pics or write up of what to rewire etc. Some one help I just want to drive my baby... lol. Any suggestions would be great. If any one needs any more info let me know. PLLLEEEAAASSSEE SOME ONE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT...!

Did you wire in the clutch position switch to fool it into thinking it's in "Neutral" when you are trying to start it?

Or do you still have the Neutral Safety Switch hooked up?
If you still have the NSS hooked up, make sure it is set to "Nuetral"

I tried jumping the black/Yellow and Blue/yellow wires as well as the NSS in all positions. Although I was not sure as to which wires on the four prong plug to jump so I tried every combo on that as well. I even took the wires off the auto shifter and tried every combo with those. I even tried making sure any parts that were previously touching metal were as well. I'm at wits end here man lol. I will be trying to manually jump it from the starter later to see if it is something else... Damn.. If I have to I'll put a push button on the damn thing and call it good..

Black w/Yellow tracer and the Blue w/White wires.....
They should be right next to each other in a corner of the connector...

(This is assuming the OBDII has the same wire colors)

congratulations on the resolution.
as i started another thread on 96~97 OBDII manual conversion issue tracking, are you having any issue with the CEL light on for the transmission control unit not able to send signal after the conversion?

thanks for the sharing..

I'm sorry but I don't understand the CEL abbreviation.. My check Engine light is on all the time though. I don't think any others are but I'll have to check later today when I get up from sleeping in a few minutes. Any thing would help though. I am having trouble disabling the torque control on the CPU because my harness seems to be different then what is pictured in huck369's write up. Haven't spent much time on that yet so I couldn't tell you if it is or not. It was just a small quick observation... I'll check out the post as well. Thanks. you can PM me as well if you would like if you come across any useful information.

Brandon, no need to do the Torque control mod, as it has been proven to not be an issue on the 5-speed swaps.....It should be deletes from the write up, but I don't have the ability to edit it once it is on the network...
